The top-tier investment bank has nabbed Goldman Sachs managing director Michael Ginzburg for the newly created position of investment banking business head in its Melbourne office, Street Talk can reveal.
Ginzburg is well known in the industry as a fintech specialist, advising Afterpay of its $39 billion deal with Square in 2021. He was also on theAt Morgan Stanley, Ginzburg will be charged with leading the coverage of the firm’s investment banking and capital markets clients in Melbourne and growing its presence. It’s a new role for the Wall Street bank, reporting to chief executive and co-head of investment banking Richard Wagner and fellow co-head Tim Church.
Ginzburg has 13 years of experience in the industry, starting in Barclays investment banking team in 2011 before moving into a role in National Australia Bank’s corporate development team. HeMelbourne is considered a satellite office for the Wall Street banks but most have a presence, servicing a swathe of corporate clients headquartered in the state. The city is home to some of the country’s top bankers including Citi’s Tony Osmond, UBS’ Charlie Daish and Goldman Sach’s Nick Sims, among others.
Now an executive director at Morgan Stanley, Parker will help to make markets for the firm’s institutional clients, reporting to head of trading Paul Craft.
