The law, known as Article 112, protects the monarchy from criticism with penalties of up to 15 years in jail per offense. An escalating wave of violence erupted early last week when three young girls were killed in a knife attack in Southport, northwest England. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mark Rowley told UK broadcaster Sky News, officers are adapting to the situation.
