Scott Morrison has accused the Opposition of 'playing politics with the Pacific' as the Coalition and Labor trade barbs over defence of the region.
The Prime Minister and Labor have continued to trade barbs over defence of the region with Scott Morrison accusing the Opposition of"playing politics with the Pacific".
But Mr Morrison has seized on remarks Deputy Labor leader Richard Marles made last year about Australia's role in the Pacific to hit back at the Opposition's criticism of the Coalition. Offer ends 31 October, 2022"So I find it odd that having been so adamant and supportive of what Australia was doing, what our government was doing in the Pacific, that on the eve of an election, someone who runs their speeches past the Chinese government before giving them, is now going to be critical of us.
"They are playing politics with the Pacific and the only ones who are benefitting from Labor's attacks on the government is the Chinese government and it would seem the ABC."
