Morrison’s rescues McColl’s convenience stores, taking on all 16,000 staff
Supermarket group Morrisons has won a battle to rescue McColl's, the convenience store and newsagent chain, and taken on all 16,000 staff members.
Morrisons, which is already a wholesale supplier to McColl's, will take on its 1,100 shops and two pension schemes which have more than 2,000 members.This is what is known as a pre-pack deal and was carried out by administrators PwC.
