A tropical storm off WA is likely to make landfall by Thursday, bringing with it a very high risk of heavy rain and gale-force winds, writes Sky News Australia Meteorologist Bradlyn Oakes.
As of Tuesday morning, the low is hovering off the Kimberley and looks set to intensify rapidly over the next couple of days.
WA's Fire and Emergency Services Commissioner Darren Klemm says the cyclone could be the largest storm to hit the Kimberley region in a decade. The Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park looks to be right in the eye of the path of Ilsa and has a very high risk of storm surges, heavy rain, flash flooding and gale-force winds.
