Autopsies of four of the seven victims indicate they died from a lack of oxygen while trapped in cabins on the luxury superyacht.
Four of the six people killed in the sinking of the luxury superyacht Bayesian died from suffocation, preliminary autopsies suggest.
British tech tycoon Mike Lynch's family yacht Bayesian sank off Sicily last month during a storm near the city of Palermo on August 19, killing Mr Lynch, his daughter Hannah, and five others. The bodies of the dead, except for the cook, were found in the cabins on the left-hand side of the boat, where the passengers may have tried to search for remaining bubbles of air, the head of Palermo's Fire Brigade said last month.
The American Red Cross maintains the term is incorrect and lacks medical evidence, and recommends against its use.
