Jayden Lindsey Ainslie, 25, will remain behind bars until his next court date after the death of Christine Lyness, 39.
Police alleged 25-year-old Jayden Lindsey Ainslie was drunk and on drugs when the stolen car he was driving crossed onto the wrong side of Booral Road in Hervey Bay and collided head-on with Lyness' Mitsubishi Mirage on Sunday.Christine Lyness, 39, was killed in a head-on collision over the Easter weekend. Lyness was a beloved nurse and the mother of two school-aged children.
Ainslie faced court today charged with dangerous driving causing death while intoxicated and driving at excessive speed, stealing, possessing dangerous drugs and driving without a license.Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information or dash cam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Jayden Lindsey Ainslie, 25, was allegedly drunk and on drugs during the crash. The fatal crash was one of 60 serious incidents across the state over the long weekend.
More than 400 drivers under the influence were caught in 25,000 random breath tests conducted in Queensland. About 1500 drivers were caught speeding, 60 were fined for seatbelt offences and 20 for using a mobile phone while driving.
