MotoGP crash splits bike in two, riders walk away.
MotoGP riders Marc Marquez and Johann Zarco were seemingly unhurt after a strange crash in practice on Friday ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix. The unusual incident split Zarco's bike in two, but both riders were able to avoid being hit by either a bike or any related debris in the collision.Replays show that the crash started with Marquez losing control in corner entry, with the bike sliding underneath him on the low side.
Their bikes are worse for wear, but both riders were able to leave the scene of the crash without assistance and both are expected to be fit for qualifying tomorrow. Both should also be ready to race in Sunday's German Grand Prix at the Saschenring, the seventh round of the 2023 championship. Marquez, who rides for Honda, is a six-time champion and 57-time winner at just 30 years old. His past four seasons have been headlined by injuries, and he has missed time on six separate occasions since 2020 with various injuries. He has yet to finish a race this season. Zarco, a Ducati rider, has three podiums through six races in 2023, but has not won a race since joining MotoGP in 2017.
