OAKLAND – The motorcyclist killed Friday in Oakland after hePolice have not released the name of the victim, but said Saturday he was a 35-year-old man who resided in Oakland.Oakland police said the motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Oakland resident, was traveling west on 24th Street at high speed when he lost control and hit a metal fence with enough force to create an opening at the bottom.
The motorcyclist then fell 25 feet onto the tracks below and was hit by a train heading toward downtown.“We have resumed normal service,” BART spokesperson Jim Allison said in an update just after 9 p.m. Friday. “We will have residual delays as we get back on schedule.”Check back for updates.
