South Australia's Opposition says Liberal MP Sam Duluk should be stood down while an investigation takes place following claims of inappropriate behaviour.

Mr Koutsantonis said it was unacceptable that Vincent Tarzia, the Speaker of the Lower House and a Liberal colleague of Mr Duluk, was part of the inquiry."It needs to be an independent inquiry, not conducted by another Liberal, conducted by someone independent," he said."Those three women work here, they come here for their livelihoods and the idea that Mr Duluk can be here while this inquiry is unsettled is offensive to them.

She said anyone who had concerns about sexual harassment at work could call the Equal Opportunity Commission to report it or to get advice. "Once we've done an investigation, we will bring the parties in to try and get a positive outcome for both parties," she said. "If we can't get a successful outcome at conciliation, then, if there's merit, I will refer it off to a tribunal where a judicial member will decide whether the law has been broken."
