Hazel Grove MP William Wragg announces he will not stand at next General Election
Hazel Grove MP William Wragg has announced he will not defend his seat at the next General Election. The Conservative politician tweeted the news that he will not stand in his Stockport constituency next time the country goes to the polls.
"I shall continue to represent constituents to the best of my ability in the meantime and thank everyone for their wonderful support over the years."He was a councillor in Stockport before becoming Hazel Grove's MP in 2015. He snatched the seat from the Lib Dems, becoming the Tory's first MP there since 1997.
Mr Wragg called for ex-Prime Minister Boris Johnson to stand down in January over the Westminster lockdown parties controversy, submitting a letter of no confidence.
