The pair faced an unimaginably tragedy after their baby died just one week after being born
Brendan O'Carroll has opened up about the heart-breaking grief he experienced following the death of his eldest child.
The actor writes in his memoir that upon learning of his sons condition, he phoned his mammy to ask her if she knew anything about the illness as his wife slept after the birth, reports the Mirror. "Although I was very young, I could not wait to be a father, probably because for most of my life I didn't have one," Brendan writes when recalling the conversation with his mother.
"He was beautiful. Big blue eyes. God love him, he looked like me. I know it sounds stupid, but I counted his fingers and I counted his toes. Ten of each. I couldn't see anything wrong with him," the star writes - adding how his son "looked like any other baby I had ever seen, except more beautiful."
