The three child stars who featured alongside the late Robin Williams in the family comedy classic Mrs Doubtfire have reunited more than 30 years since the film hit cinemas and became a beloved classic.
Mara Wilson , Matthew Lawrence and Lisa Jakub portrayed the three Hillard children, whose divorced father Daniel poses as an elderly nanny and tricks his ex-wife Miranda into hiring him to take care of their children.Brotherly LoveThe group took to Instagram to share a heartwarming picture of their reunion on Wednesday with Wilson writing: “So funny that the same week I went to San Francisco , I got to reunite with my Doubtfire siblings! It’s always a joy to see @lisa.
Jakub also shared the snap, saying: “The sisters had so much fun hanging out with the brothers. @marawilson and @matthewlawrence still feel like my siblings- even 30 years after filming ‘Mrs Doubtfire.’ And @andrewlawrence and @joeylawrence are just part of the extended family. I had a great time doing the @officialbrotherlylovepod and can’t wait to share it with you.”It’s not the first time the gang have paid tribite to their time making the film.
For the movie’s 25th anniversary in 2018, the cast the stars also reminisced about the late Williams and said it was hard keeping their composure around him on-set because he was always cracking jokes. “We did a lot of takes,” Wilson said. “It’d be like take 25 and Robin would be different every time.”But Jakub noted that Williams made a bigger impact on her with his honesty about mental health and addiction.
“One of the most powerful things for me about working with him is that he was very open and honest with me talking about his issues with addiction, depression,” she said. “That was so powerful to me at 14.
