Keeping on top of your cleaning to-do list can be tricky, but there are some hints and tips you can try to make things a little simpler.
While it may not be your idea of fun, keeping on top of the cleanliness in your is important. Ensuring that your toilet is free from limescale is key in a bid to avoid embarrassing conversations with guests who may note that your loo is looking a little mucky.
And annoyingly, bleach may not be enough with the cleaning product simply turning limescale a different colour. Taking to your toilet with a brush won't do the trick either, with scrubbing often not sufficing, reports the Mirror. One keen cleaner took to the group to ask for advice, writing: "Since we moved in, our toilet has had these horrid brown stains in the bowl. I've tried bleach, Viakal, Harpic toilet tablets, and some serious scrubbing and nothing has shifted it so far. Any advice on what else we can try?"
"Pour in 125g citric acid and leave for an hour. The limescale will be gone", one clever cleaner wrote. Another agreed, writing: "Bung two cups of citric acid down it overnight and in the morning it'll be as clean as a whistle. You can buy it online or from a local zero-waste store. The stuff is brilliant. My toilet was invaded by limescale and this sorted it right out."
