Another establishment lost
A popular bakery has been forced to close its doors for good after facing mounting pressures amid the cost of living crisis.
They put the decision down to the "ever rising fuel and commodity costs" coupled with ill health, which have ultimately forced their hand. Clearly a popular spot over the last eight decades, many customers and fellow businesses rushed to the comment section to share their messages of support.One social media user wrote: "So very sorry to read this today - your birthday cakes were the delight of my childhood .
One customer has been visiting the bakery since the 1960s as a regular customer. They wrote: "Absolutely gutted. My family and myself have been customers since the 1960s. I will always remember also the lovely cakes you use to donate for my Mcmillian coffee mornings. Thank you again for that. Sorry to hear this. Its the end of a era! I wish all the staff all the best going forward for the future.
Neighbouring business, Willows Florist, commented on the post with their message of support. They said: "We are absolutely gutted to hear this news. You have been the best neighbours and always looked after us, bringing us cakes when we’re working late. We know how many hours you all have put in over the years. Such a lovely family and staff and we are going to miss you so much."
