Former chairman of the DNC, Terry McAuliffe, said Biden's historic decision had given the party an"extraordinary" lift, highlighted by the record-breaking $525 million her campaign has raised, and that he had"never seen such joy and happiness" as what has been on display since she entered the race. "You got to spend a day or two working on the platform, given issues back and forth, getting everybody in a good place where we come out of here unified. We don't do that this year. Everybody's here. Everybody's unified, people are jacked up," Mr McAuliffe told Sky News Australia's US politics analyst Joe Hockey.
