Military capabilities and jobs will be bolstered in the Northern Territory with Prime Minister Scott Morrison poised to unveil a $747 million investment in four key ADF training areas.
These include Robertson Barracks Close Training Area, Kangaroo Flats, Mount Bundey and Bradshaw Field training areas. The prime minister will announce the $747 million defence boost in Darwin today saying his commitment is to "keeping Australians safe and keeping Australians in a job".
The move is aimed at improving Australia's military force capabilities along with defending the Indo-Pacific and expanding "war gaming" with the US. An overhaul of the four training areas and ranges in Northern Australia as well as upgrades to firing ranges, weapon simulations, aviation facilities and combat shooting is anticipated.
