At least three people are dead after a gunman opened fire inside a hospital campus in the United States in the second mass shooting in just over a week.

Authorities responded to calls about a man armed with a rifle at the Natalie Medical Building, an office block of the St Francis Hospital campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Wednesday shortly after 5pm.

Picture: Tulsa PoliceMultiple officers are searching the remaining floors of the building for"additional threats".He said"hundreds of rooms" at the campus had to be cleared as they attempted to evacuate victims injured or holed up in rooms.The shooting occurred in an office block of the St Francis Hospital campus in Tulsa late on Wednesday afternoon.

"We know there are multiple injuries and, potentially, multiple casualties," a Facebook post from Tulsa Police shortly after 6pm read.
