Samantha Norris made a frank admission when she was caught
Samantha Norris, of Millfields Court, Eccleston, smuggled heroin into HMP New Hall for her boyfriend, who was an inmate, on January 6 and 12 2022. On both occasions the substance was discovered by guards, and the 38-year-old mum was hauled in for questioning in August 2023, where she frankly admitted what she had done.
She appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today, October 25, where she pleaded guilty to two counts of conveying prohibited articles into prison.READ MORE: Missing woman found dead in Asda car park named Jim Smith, defending, said: "This was an unsophisticated, non-professional transfer which didn't reach the intended recipient. To her credit, from the very outset she admitted to the police. Her first remarks were, 'I'm f****d aren't I? I did it', to the officer.
He said Norris, who suffered from drug addiction, anxiety and depression, had been in an abusive relationship with the inmate at the time of the offence. Judge David Aubrey said: "Both offences relate to the conveying of articles into HMP New Hall, Wakefield, where your erstwhile partner was, at the time, an inmate. You conveyed on both occasions a very small quantity of diamorphine for the personal use of your partner, with whom you had been in a relationship, and I accept that unfortunately it was an abusive relationship.
