Mum's devastating cancer hell after years of being raped and abused by men
A woman who suffered years of abuse, including being raped by two men, has been diagnosed with cancer. But she is using the diagnosis to help and inspire others, as she has already done when it comes to her own sexual abuse.

I started to examine myself and I thought I had found a lump, but I also thought my mind might be playing tricks on me, but thought it best to call my doctor anyway."
The very next day, Sammy received a letter from the breast clinic saying she had an appointment there four days later, where she received her scans and diagnosis. She also underwent surgery to remove the tumour from her breast, which was originally at 2.2 centimetres wide. By this point, it had grown by another three millimetres.
"Then they told me I would need to be on hormone therapy for the next ten years, but fortunately I don't have to go through chemo. It's so mentally draining - physically it's obviously hard and I've had to take time off work, but staying at home and resting is not normal for me. It's a complete change of lifestyle and I'm worrying about money too, like everyone else in this economic climate. I have to learn to live with cancer now - it's been truly horrendous.
As Sammy finds great joy in helping others, she decided to set up a Facebook group called 'Let's Talk Cancer', where she's invited other people who have been diagnosed with the disease and has given them a place to talk openly about it to one another. She then hopes to set up a fortnightly video chat between the members to get to know each other and their journeys.
