The allowance will rise from £156.66 per week to £172.48 a week from the April payment. Working mothers receiving the standard rate of maternity pay from their employer will also see an identical rise with a 10.1 per cent increase. DWP Minister Viscount Younger of Leckie said: “We want every child to have a good start in life, which is why we are increasing our support for mums.
