Days before a jury was to be selected in the trial of Chance Stelzig, 29, the charge was dismissed “for further investigation.”
Chance Stelzig, previously accused of murder in the baseball bat beating death of 46-year-old Faustino Rodriguez on Nov. 17, 2019, has been cleared of the charges and his case dismissed.The murder charge against Chance Stelzig, accused of killing a man with a baseball bat in 2019 was dismissed days before a jury panel was to be selected.
Authorities had identified him as among three men, one of them carrying a baseball bat, who witnesses saw flee an area near a Citgo gas station on Gardina Street on Nov. 17, 2019, where police found the beaten body of Faustino Rodriguez, 46, shortly afterward.
