A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder
A man in his 50s has died as police investigate reports he was attacked by another man armed with a machete on Sunday night in Omagh.
Another man was also injured in the alleged attack, with the man in custody also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The incident took place just before midnight on Sunday night.A police spokesperson appealed for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said: “We received a report at around 11.55pm that two men had been assaulted by a man armed with a machete, outside a house, in the Slievecoole Park area of the town.
