Mr Greeves said he and another man, Mr Harwood, went to Mr Smith’s unit where they continued drinking together.Roomes and Mr Smith began drinking again in the park the following morning and returned to the unit when a fight broke out with Mr Harwood.“Mr Smith indicated he doesn’t like the way Mr Roomes is acting … the tension clearly rises, the argument escalates.
A prosecutor told the court the case against Roomes was "overwhelming" and the incident was a "particularly brutal and an unnecessary infliction of violence" against Mr Smith is his own home.
