A spokesman for the Republican Governors Association, Daniel Scarpinato, said the Democrats shouldn’t be that celebratory. “We governors are in charge of implementing the most generational transforming amount of funds that we’ve ever had,” Cooper said. “That will help this president get re-elected. It’s one thing to pass these laws and appropriate the money. It’s another thing to actually get it into the ground, into families’ pockets. And you’re going to see Democrats step up and get the job done. That’s one of the best ways that we can see success in 2024.
