But with the kind of cash Finance Minister Donna Harpauer was tossing about Wednesday, one might have thought even those less enthused by her Sask. Party government might have offered at least grudging congratulations. Instead, we heard some of the grumbling we’ve heard after a bad budget.

“Nation-leading compensation for our nurses — that’s not nothing,” Merriman said in a question period response on Thursday. “These are significant investments.” Outside the chamber, Merriman told reporters Zambory and SUN “have their job to do” and insisted “what we did, is go and talk to frontline health workers.”Nor did we hear many teachers, social workers, clients or advocates ringing bells, notwithstanding that all received funding increases.
