Australian Suzanne Cotter will become the Museum of Contemporary Art’s first new director in two decades when she replaces theCotter, a respected peer of Macgregor, is currently the director of the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean in Luxembourg.
“The MCA is responding to this context and ensuring its place as an outstanding institution in Australian cultural life.”Lorraine Tarabay, chair of the MCA, said: “From our perspective Suzanne was the stand out candidate in term of depth and breadth of her experience, her international networks and experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders. She is a renowned expert in contemporary art, and is also well respected as a museum curator.
