The museum was recognised for its educational work by the Heritage Education Trust.

Staff at the Museum of Lincolnshire Life have been recognised for their "inspirational" work with schools, colleges and universities.

Since September, the museum, in Lincoln, has welcomed over 500 pupils and students on educational visits.The council-owned museum was recognised with the Sanford Award from the Heritage Education Trust in partnership with Bishop Grosseteste University.It features a number of displays which allow visitors to see artefacts in context

Councillor Lindsey Cawrey, executive member for culture at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "This recognition builds upon our previous Sandford Award successes at Lincoln Museum and Lincoln Castle, showing how we're continuing to share our county's history with younger generations. "The award assessor complimented the team on the work they have done post-pandemic to strengthen our learning offer at the museum, and the imaginative activities that run during school holidays to allow visitors to dive into local history outside of term time."

The assessment team praised the museum's "inspirational" learning programme and its displays, which allow students to see artefacts in context.
