Daily News | Museum of the American Revolution celebrates the radical Forten women who fought for equality
The discussion will be led by the museum’s director of education and community engagement, Adrienne Whaley and Tufts University assistant professor Dr.
“There’s so much we can do to lift these stories up,” Whaley said, “and it’s important for us to take opportunities to do that. Women’s history is American history, and women’s history is African American history. So, we’re just trying to make sure that the real women and the real stories of these important figures are shared with our guests, our visitors, and our learners.
“I want them to go home and hop on the Internet and research more about the women we’re going to talk about,” she said. “I want them to say, ‘Wow, I didn’t know that we had all these stories in our history.’ And I want them to say, ‘Yes, it’s complicated. There were challenges. These relationships weren’t perfect.
