Music producer killed in N.J. recording studio by gunman who allegedly said, ‘I had to do it.’

Isaiah Shaw, known as DJ Zay, was killed Friday night, authorities said.

The victim, Isaiah Shaw, 23, worked as a music producer and used the name “DJ Zay.”

Authorities have released little information about the Sept. 30 shooting. A 911 call summoned police to an address on Egg Harbor Road where they found Shaw, who died at the scene, officials said. Court documents in the case describe a witness inside the studio who saw Nevels pointing a handgun at Shaw, then heard a shot and saw Shaw falling to the floor.
