Er, Musk's trial hasn't stopped, no matter what he told Twitter, says judge
Elon Musk's decision this week to go ahead with his Twitter purchase – after months of trying to wriggle out of the deal – hasn't automatically stopped his upcoming trial, the judge overseeing the case said today.
"I, therefore, continue to press on toward our trial set to begin on October 17," Chancellor McCormick said.– in which he will be grilled by Twitter's lawyers under oath as testimony for the case – is due to begin tomorrow, October 6. Musk has already delayed it once. As a result of this, Twitter is requesting an adverse inference against him, which is a form of legal reasoning arguing that if a defendant destroyed evidence they were ordered to produce, it's reasonable to conclude it was damaging.
