In the small Western Australian town of Katanning, more than 400 people dressed in their finest and gathered at the local mosque to celebrate one of most special days on the Islamic calendar.

More than 400 people have gathered in a tiny Western Australian town to celebrate the end of Ramadan .Eid al-Fitr has arrived in a wave of feasting and blessings, marking the end of Ramadan for the Muslim community.

"It's a time for us to reflect. It's time for us to give back to community, time for forgiveness, peace and love," he said. "It meant a lot to us to come out all the way to Katanning to celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters, something that's really special," Ms Mughal said.'Surrounded by positive energy'"Being humble, being thankful for what we have, surrounded by positive energy," she said.Her husband, Shah Jackey, was born in Katanning and has a Malay and Cocos Islands background.
