A magnitude 4.6 earthquake has startled residents in the New South Wales Upper Hunter on Friday, with Sydneysiders also reporting they had felt the shaking.The New South Wales State Emergency Service is responding to calls for assistance after a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck north of Sydney. The Seismology Research Centre announced on social media the tremor occurred on Friday about 12:15pm in Muswellbrook, near Newcastle, the state's second largest city.An earthquake occurred in Northern NSW a few minutes ago. Preliminary magnitude is 4.6. Location is south of Muswellbrook, near Lake Liddell."Was there just an earthquake in Sydney, or did my building just shake for fun?! one said.Another social media user reported a tremor in Bondi.
