Mariah Carey has suffered a double family tragedy on the weekend after the deaths of her mother, Patricia Carey, and her sister, Alison Carey on the same day.

Carey did not provide further details about the deaths of her 87-year-old mother, and her 63-year-old sister. "Like many aspects of my life, my journey with my mother has been full of contradictions and competing realities. It's never been only black-and-white - it's been a whole rainbow of emotions," she wrote in her 2020 memoir.
Carey had alleged that Alison had drugged her at age 12, given her third-degree burns, and attempted to recruit her into sex work.
