The footage shows the moment the children were finally saved by Indigenous trackers and the military One of the children was sleeping 'but woke up and said to me: My mummy is dead'

The footage, released by the Colombian state RTVC broadcaster, shows the moment the children were finally saved by Indigenous trackers and the military.

In the film, a medic offers a pink liquid to two of the children. The youngsters are very quiet and appear to be weak. “The dog was with [rescuers], he would leave and come back again… but then he disappeared,” said Narciso Mucutuy, the children’s grandfather, in a video released by the Colombian Ministry of Defence.

The older siblings had been fighting fevers while five-year-old Tien Noriel was being monitored for a possible reaction to something he ate.
