Fertility specialist Dr Lynn Burmeister says she has been inundated by calls from “hysterical” patients after the Victorian government announced a 90-day pause on IVF treatment due to the Omicron wave.
“After living with this pandemic for two years, we have actually been stopped and started five times,” Dr Burmeister said.
“We don’t know when it’s going to reopen. We were promised today they were going to do everything they can to reopen, well what do you need to actually do to reopen?“Please just say yes.”
