Mysterious ball-shaped debris have washed up on Silver Beach in Kurnell on Tuesday, prompting the Sutherland Shire Council to warn locals away from the contamination.
The NSW Environment Protection Authority is investigating the balls found at the eastern end of Silver Beach , as the council installed warning signs along the affected section.

Following investigations from scientists at the University of New South Wales, it was discovered the balls contained a mix of waste from ships and oil spillage. "This combination suggests a mix of substances derived from both fossil fuels and plant or animal sources," he said.
