N.J. woman, 71, dies after hitting tree during ‘medical episode,’ cops say
A South Jersey motorist died Friday after her car struck a tree in Cumberland County while she was suffering from a medical problem, police said.
Ingrid Hillman, 71, of Egg Harbor Township was driving north on Route 649/North Avenue in Commercial Township shortly before 4 p.m. when she suffered an “unknown medical episode,” according to a New Jersey State Police spokesman. The car crossed the centerline of the roadway near Highland Street, left the road and ran into a wooded area before striking a tree.
