N.J. extends deadline for rental help program after technical glitch

More than 42,000 people have applied for the program so far.

from a state program that opened on Monday were faced with a glitch that stopped them from submitting applications, some renters told NJ Advance Media.

The Department of Community Affairs confirmed there were “technical difficulties” with its vendor for the State Rental Assistance Program program when the system first went online at 9 a.m. Monday, but it has since been corrected. “Although the portal experienced difficulties only for a short time, we have extended the opening period through July 25th at 5 p.m. to allow anyone who was inconvenienced extra time to submit their application,” spokeswoman Tammori Petty-Dixon said.
