A 23-year-old Essex County man died lWednesday night after police investigating a report of shots fired found him lying in the street, authorities said. Jahque Benbow, of Irvington, was found about 10 p.m. in the 500 block of Grove Street in the township, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers.
Benbow was taken to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead about 40 minutes later, Stephens and Bowers said in a statement. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
