Police in Gloucester County have charged a Camden County man in a hit-and-run crash from August that killed a pedestrian.near Corkery Lane in Monroe Township on the evening of Aug. 4, according to a criminal complaint filed last week.Bintliff allegedly left the area without stopping, but police released a surveillance camera image of the vehicle sought in the crash.
The van was located using surveillance video and state motor vehicle records, police said. The registered owner of the vehicle told police he had lent the vehicle to Bintliff to complete construction work at a residence in Williamstown, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the charges.
Bintliff was charged with second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of an auto accident resulting in death and placed in Salem County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing. Court records indicate he’s being represented by the public defender’s office.
