and weapons offenses in the Feb. 14 shooting death of Lequint G. Allen, 42, of Millville, at a home in Lawrence Township, Cumberland County.State Police troopers responded to the 600 block of Newport Road around 5:15 p.m. and found Allen suffering from gunshot wounds, authorities said. He was taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland, where he was pronounced dead.

The men appeared to “engage in a verbal dispute” outside before Allen’s girlfriend walked back into the house, Sasu said. The video then shows Allen walking back toward the house and Baker pulling a handgun from his waistband and firing multiple shots at Allen.A motive for the shooting was not disclosed in court.“My review here is that it does appear that the defendant shot the victim in the back as the victim was walking away,” Superior Court Judge Cristen P. D’Arrigo said.

“There is more to this story that we believe will emerge when the discovery is more complete and there are more facts that would explain why Mr. Baker was called to that residence, by whom and what the catalyst for what was a verbal dispute with the decedent quickly escalated beyond anybody’s wildest imagination,” Leonard said. “Nobody went to that house on that night looking for anything like this to happen.
