Severe thunderstorms are in the forecast through Friday afternoon and evening for New Jersey.
The National Weather Service started issuing severe thunderstorm warnings shortly before 2 p.m. The heavier and more widespread storms are expected later. The storms could include up to 60 mph wind gusts and hail along with heavy rain.
