A hammer-wielding attacker who violently assaulted the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi inside the family’s San Francisco home was targeting the longtime California lawmaker, the city's police chief said.
Scott identified the alleged assailant as 42-year-old David DePape, a resident of Berkeley, California. San Francisco Sheriff's records show David Wayne DePape was booked into the local jail at 1:27 p.m. local time. No bond had been set.
