Naruto's best element isn't the fighting.
Many fans understandably view Naruto as an action manga more than anything else, especially romance. This is one of the key reasons why many were understandably critical of Boruto's controversial romance tease. However, certain developments that take place at critical points in Naruto put an unprecedented amount of emphasis on an unexpected element that arguably too many shonen choose to either ignore or only briefly discuss.
Naruto Begins With a Love Triangle Long before "NaruHina" was canon, the series' first and important relationship was one of anime's most celebrated love triangles between Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura. The archetypal dynamic easily holds such a coveted title because it's focused on the three main characters of the series. Of course, a critical aspect of that relationship is Naruto and Sasuke's rivalry.
When Hinata finally becomes a mainstay, it's not a stretch to say that she plays the most pivotal role when she protects Naruto from Pain. It's her sacrifice that leads Naruto to eventually overpower the villain, culminating in his first major step in making his dream a reality. Sarada's "story" in the chapter culminates in the identity of her father after already establishing that her mother is Sakura. After Sakura greets her, Sarada mentions how Boruto's dad is similar to hers before the next panel shows Sasuke. By holding out on who Sakura ended up with, the series is trying to show how important this reveal is. As for revealing who Naruto ended up with, the chapter only establishes that Boruto is Naruto's son.
