—who’ve spoken candidly about preserving their mental health. How has your outlook in that regard changed since 2018?
I’ve also read that you changed your outlook for these Games. You weren’t focussed just on winning. Tell me about that. I saw news that another skater—Laura Barquero, from Spain—also failed a doping test. Do you see this as a broader problem in the sport? Your coach, Rafael Arutyunyan, has criticized in the past what is sometimes referred to as the “Eteri expiration date.” In one interview, he said, “I don’t really like drinking coffee from disposable cups. . . . Similarly, I don’t like onetime champions.” How has his coaching encouraged longevity for you?
