All six of Australia’s state premiers will miss a welcome reception for King Charles and Queen Camilla in Canberra on Monday and their absence has not gone unnoticed, with Nationals leader David Littleproud branding their decision to stay away as “disappointing”.
David Littleproud says it is “disappointing” all of Australia ’s state premiers will not be present at a welcome event for King Charles and Queen Camilla on Monday, after all six state leaders declined the invitation.
Mr Littleproud discussed the issue with Sky News Australia on Monday. House in Canberra: NewsWire / Martin Ollman “No matter what you think about a republic or not, you've got to respect the institutions and the institutions that you're taking advantage of. “I get Steven Miles, I'll give defence of Steven Miles. He's got a little bit on his plate, but the others, I think, should have shown some respect to the monarch,” Mr Littleproud said.
