Aussie cricketing legend and former captain turned commentator Mark Taylor has lashed out at the “naysayers” lambasting his diving commentary at the Olympic Games.
Taylor, 59, along with Channel 9 copped backlash after he was appointed to commentate on the diving at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

AAP sports reporter Oliver Caffrey likened the former cricketer’s commentary to a “12th man bit” while one X user accused Channel 9 of “taking the piss”.“'Sensational dive, that' - Probably… Former Australian cricket captain Mark Taylor commentating the diving. Channel 9 absolutely taking the piss with their Olympics team providing jobs for the boys and girls who have no business being there,” they wrote.
"Well, the women just finishing up. You know what women are like… hanging around, doing their make-up," he said as Emma McKeon, Shayna Jack, Mollie O'Calloghan and Meg Harris were making their way out of the Paris Aquatic Centre.
