Naz Reid, Timberwolves Agree To Three-Year, $42M Extension - RealGM Wiretap

The Minnesota Timberwolves have kept one of the better potential free agent centers from hitting the market. The Wolves and Naz Reid have agreed to a three-year, $42 million extension. The final season will be a player option for Reid.

The extension for Reid will average $14 million per season, which is just above the Non-Taxpayer MLE amount. With Reid now signed for next season, Minnesota will be approximately $8 million under the luxury tax at the start of free agency. If the Timberwolves are willing to go over the tax line, they could use the Non-Taxpayer MLE to help fill out their bench.
