A family is raising concerns about the care of their 27-year-old son, who receives a $670,000-a-year NDIS plan, after he was allegedly lured away from his authorized carer by new providers.

The family of a 27-year-old NDIS recipient whose plan is worth $670,000 a year fear he's been preyed upon by unscrupulous providers , who they allege have lured him away from his authorised carer. Mike* left the care facility he was staying at in late November, and has since been living between different addresses in Melbourne under the care of a new provider his family fear are just seeking control of his funds.

His parents confronted the men who have taken over their son's care after Mike was admitted to hospital in December. There are people he's never met circling his son Mike's* hospital bed, encouraging Mike to come with them to their disability care facility. The 27-year-old has an acquired brain injury and schizoaffective disorder, among other mental health diagnoses, and has frequent psychiatric admissions. He is also the recipient of a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) plan worth $670,000 a year — making him a lucrative catch for unscrupulous providers. The men telling Mike to come to their facility are NDIS operators, but they're not Mike's authorised provider. This scenario has played out for Mike's family many times before — where unethical providers convince him to go with them and they don't see their son for months on end.'What's the go? he asks, exasperated, in a video seen by the ABC.They don't give their names, but say they're support workers and they've been looking after Mike for two days.'No-one's going to force nothing down his throat, so it's all good, there is no issues,' the man tells Eric amicably. They bat away any concerns from Mike's family that their operation might be fraudulent, saying they were worried his authorised providers may be mistreating him.High-paying NDIS packages can make recipients targets The men are just some of the people who have had Mike in their care since he left his supported independent living house to hang out with some 'friends' in late Novembe
